Irbid, Sept. 29 (Petra) — Jadara University President Habis Al-Zoubi
held talks Tuesday with a delegation from the French Embassy’s
Department of Cooperation and Cultural Action in Jordan, led by
Scientific and University Cooperation Attaché Oissila Saaidia, on
expanding academic and scientific cooperation with French higher
education institutions.

The meeting focused on identifying potential areas for institutional
partnership and academic exchange, with the aim of creating broader
opportunities for cooperation between Jadara and its French
counterparts.

Also attending were Campus France Jordan Office Director Maysa
Murabit and French Language Education Officer at the French Embassy
Emma Kerdraon.

Zoubi welcomed the delegation and underscored the longstanding
Jordanian-French relationship and continued cooperation across
various fields. He also highlighted the efforts of His Majesty King
Abdullah II to strengthen ties and partnership between the two
countries.

He said Jadara places particular importance on expanding its
international academic partnerships, especially with French
universities, and is keen to identify areas for cooperation and
develop sustainable institutional ties. Such partnerships would
support the exchange of expertise and knowledge, create additional
opportunities for students and faculty, and enhance the university’s
academic engagement at the regional and international levels.

Saaidia expressed appreciation for the reception, saying the visit
provided an opportunity to learn more about Jadara and its academic
programs and to explore possible cooperation with French
universities.

She said potential areas of cooperation include business
administration, engineering, architecture, arts, and social sciences
and humanities, offering scope for academic and scientific
partnerships between Jadara and French universities.

The meeting also addressed an invitation for Jadara to participate in
a forum organized by the French Scientific Attaché’s Office, which
will bring together Jordanian universities and a number of French
universities. The event will provide opportunities for academics and
students to connect, introduce academic programs and fields of study,
and discuss avenues for academic and scientific exchange.

The delegation later visited Shukri Marashdeh, Chairman of Jadara’s
Board of Trustees and Director General, who welcomed the visitors and
expressed support for the proposals and opportunities discussed. He
affirmed the university’s readiness to continue exploring academic
cooperation with French universities in line with its direction and
future plans.

At the conclusion of the visit, Jadara presented the delegation with
a university shield in recognition of the visit. The delegation
members thanked the university for the warm welcome and stressed the
importance of maintaining communication and pursuing opportunities to
strengthen academic and scientific cooperation between the two sides.
