Amman, June 23 (Petra) — The Executive Director of the Jordan
Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), Ghaleb Muhammad Hijazi,
has been appointed as Jordan’s representative on the Board of
Directors of the Arab Union of International Exhibitions and
Conferences, according to the Union.

The Union, which operates under the Council of Arab Economic Unity of
the Arab League, said the appointment reflects confidence in Hijazi’s
experience in economic and business development fields.

Hijazi has led JEDCO’s programs supporting industrial, service, and
agricultural sectors, in addition to initiatives aimed at assisting
small and medium-sized enterprises and startups and facilitating
their participation in specialized exhibitions to access external
markets.

The appointment is linked to broader efforts to support the
development of the exhibitions and conferences sector and enhance
cooperation among relevant Arab institutions.

It also aligns with Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision, which
includes the exhibitions and conferences sector among areas targeted
for supporting growth in exports and investment activity.

The Arab Union of International Exhibitions and Conferences works to
coordinate and develop the exhibitions sector across Arab countries
and strengthen economic cooperation and trade among member states
under the Arab League framework.
