JFDZ affirms ongoing commitment to advance Porto Dead Sea project through 2033

Amman, Oct. 19 (Petra) — Chairman of the Board of Directors of the
Jordan Free and Development Zones Group (JFDZ), Sakhr Al-Ajlouni,
affirmed the group’s ongoing commitment to overseeing the “Porto Dead
Sea” project and addressing past developmental hurdles to ensure the
completion of all execution phases through 2033, boosting the
investment climate in the Dead Sea Development Zone.

In a press statement released Monday, Al-Ajlouni explained that the
group has organized contractual arrangements with the investing
company and set precise timelines for completing development works.
He noted that the amended agreement annex, signed in December 2024,
established the timeframes for developing both the beachfront and
mountainous land parcels while organizing procedures for transferring
title deeds in accordance with established legal and contractual
frameworks.

Al-Ajlouni stated that the first phase of the project, spanning 9
dunums, has been fully completed. It comprises 151 hotel apartments,
Building (A) which features a reception area, banquet hall,
administration offices, a tourist restaurant, and commercial shops
along with 11 additional hotel apartments, two swimming pools, and an
equipped beach.

He added that the second phase, covering 5 dunums, is scheduled for
completion by the end of 2027 and includes 117 hotel apartments, 12
cabanas, and two hotel buildings (B and C) housing approximately 69
guest rooms, alongside a restaurant and cafe.

Al-Ajlouni pointed out that the third phase, built on 6 dunums, is
set to be finalized by the end of 2028, featuring 147 hotel
apartments, 12 cabanas, and two hotel buildings (D and E) with about
58 guest rooms, as well as 20 commercial shops.

Al-Ajlouni stressed that the group continues to monitor the
investor’s commitments and coordinate with relevant authorities to
finalize required procedures, including property transfers for
buyers, in alignment with relevant legislation and agreements while
safeguarding all parties’ rights.

He noted that completing the project according to approved schedules
will diversify tourism offerings in the Dead Sea Development Zone,
enhance its appeal for tourism and real estate investments, stimulate
hospitality and service sectors, create direct and indirect job
opportunities, and bolster regional economic and tourism development.

On his part, Chairman of Porto Dead Sea and CEO of Arab Developers
Holding Group, Ayman bin Mukhtar Khalifa, confirmed that project
development is progressing according to established timelines,
reinforcing the Dead Sea Development Zone’s status as a premier
tourism and investment destination offering diverse lodging, leisure,
and recreational facilities.

Khalifa explained that early buyers of units completed in the initial
phase will receive their registration deeds within weeks to finalize
title registration according to established procedures.

He noted that the project is distributed across two main plots: the
first is a beachfront plot of approximately 19.5 dunums, featuring
five towers with hotel apartments, tourism, commercial, and service
facilities. The second is a mountainous plot spanning some 786
dunums, featuring master plans for villas, serviced apartments, a
200-room four-star hotel, recreational and commercial facilities, and
green spaces.

Khalifa indicated that development on the beachfront plot is executed
across three phases, with overall completion reaching approximately
45 percent and full finalization expected by the end of 2028, in line
with the amended agreement annex signed in December 2024. Development
of the mountainous plot is scheduled to begin at the end of 2028 and
run through the end of 2033.

He added that master plans for the mountainous plot include luxury
tourist villas of varying sizes with private pools, residential
apartments, a hotel, restaurants, cafes, a health and fitness club, a
water park, shared sports fields, and landscaped areas. This
integrated layout aims to provide a comprehensive resort and family
entertainment experience, enriching the Dead Sea’s tourism product
and increasing its appeal to visitors and investors.
