Amman, October 26 (QNA) – Jordanian security forces arrested three men identified by authorities as the perpetrators of a deadly attack on a church in Karak Governorate early Monday, following an armed confrontation.
The Public Security Directorate said search and tracking operations led security forces to an abandoned house in Hmoud village, where the three perpetrators had barricaded themselves and refused to surrender. They opened fire on security personnel, who returned fire, wounding all three before arresting them.
No security personnel were injured in the operation, and firearms and live ammunition were seized at the site, according to the directorate.
Minister of Government Communication and Official Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani said in a post on X that a joint security operation had led to the arrest of the perpetrators following an armed confrontation. He commended the efforts of the security agencies involved and confirmed that no members of the security forces had been injured.
The attack took place on Friday during a funeral at a Greek Orthodox church in Hmoud village, killing nine people and injuring 34 others, according to Petra News Agency. (QNA)
