Irbid, June 23 (Petra) — The Jordan Post and the Princess Basma
Teaching Hospital are advancing efforts to improve healthcare
accessibility through a joint initiative aimed at delivering
medications directly to patients, particularly those requiring
ongoing treatment for chronic conditions.

The initiative was discussed during a meeting between Northern Region
Postal Directorate Director Omar Tbeishat and Princess Basma Teaching
Hospital Director Dr. Walid Al-Halabi, alongside members of the
hospital’s medical team.

The proposed service is designed to spare patients unnecessary trips
to the hospital for prescription refills, making treatment more
convenient while helping reduce congestion at outpatient clinics and
pharmacy counters.

As part of the plan, the two sides examined the possibility of
establishing a dedicated Jordan Post service point within the
hospital. The counter would assist patients in using the “Hakimi”
digital platform to request medication deliveries and provide
guidance on accessing the service.

Dr. Al-Halabi stressed the value of institutional partnerships in
enhancing patient care and revealed that a specialized team has been
assigned to coordinate with Jordan Post on implementation. The team
will work on developing operational procedures and overseeing the
rollout of the service.

The meeting concluded with Tbeishat presenting Al-Halabi with a
commemorative collection of Jordanian postage stamps in recognition
of the hospital’s longstanding contribution to healthcare services in
Irbid and across northern Jordan.
