Saudi Arabia’s Voluntary Carbon Market Fuels the Shift to a Low-Carbon
Amman, Oct. 1 (Petra) – Minister of Environment Aiman Suleiman and
his Qatari counterpart Abdullah Subaie explored on Thursday ways to
enhance bilateral environmental and climate cooperation.
During the meeting held in Amman, the ministers discussed
opportunities for joint action in climate change adaptation,
biodiversity protection, natural resource management, and
environmental monitoring.
The duo also called for orchestrating Arab climate stances at
international summits to better secure funding for regional
environmental projects.
To formalize their partnership, Jordan and Qatar agreed to sign a
memorandum of understanding (MoU) focused on environmental and
climate action,which would establish a framework for institutional
cooperation, and knowledge sharing practices.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Council of Arab
Ministers Responsible for the Environment (CAMRE) 37th session at the
Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
