Amman, June 25 (Petra) — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization
(JHCO), in cooperation with the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army, the
Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, the World Food Programme
(WFP), and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine
Refugees (UNRWA), dispatched its ninth humanitarian aid convoy to
Lebanon on Thursday.
According to a JHCO statement, the convoy comprises 20 trucks
carrying relief supplies as part of Jordan’s ongoing efforts to
support the Lebanese people. The assistance is aimed at addressing
urgent humanitarian needs and supporting vulnerable communities
affected by current conditions in Lebanon, while helping improve
living conditions and public health.
JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli said the convoy reflects
Jordan’s continued commitment to humanitarian assistance in the
region. He added that the organization is working in coordination
with government institutions and international partners to ensure aid
reaches beneficiaries efficiently and in line with needs on the
ground.
The organization also expressed appreciation to Syrian authorities
for facilitating the convoy’s transit through Syria, as well as the
passage of previous humanitarian shipments to Lebanon in recent
weeks.
