Jordan, Syria FMs talk joint coordination on regional issues

Canberra, Oct. 13 (Petra) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi
held a phone call on Tuesday with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad
Shaibani to bolster ties and coordinate regional security efforts.

The ministers pointed to the relationship between Jordan and Syria,
committing to expand cooperation and maintain joint efforts to
promote regional stability.

Addressing developments in southern Syria, Safadi and Shaibani issued
a joint condemnation of Israeli strikes on Syrian territory,
rejecting actions that violate international law and threaten
regional stability.

Safadi said that Jordan supports Syria’s sovereignty, security, and
reconstruction efforts.

The ministers said they support diplomatic efforts to end the broader
escalation across the Middle East.

Additionally, they denounced recent Houthi attacks targeting Saudi
Arabia, pledging solidarity with Riyadh and supporting measures taken
by the country to protect its sovereignty, security, and residents.

Safadi and Shaibani agreed to meet in person soon to further explore
strategies for enhancing cooperation and coordinating on shared
regional issues.
