Saudi Arabia’s Voluntary Carbon Market Fuels the Shift to a Low-Carbon
Amman, Oct. 6 (Petra) – Environment Minister Ayman Suleiman and
Turkish Ambassador Hakan Karaçay discussed cooperation on
environmental and climate issues, as well as preparations and
priorities for the 31st UN Climate Change Conference (COP31).
The meeting covered cooperation in climate action, the green and
circular economy, sustainable resource management, and the exchange
of expertise on environmental issues of mutual interest.
The two sides also reviewed preparations for COP31, including key
issues on the conference agenda and efforts to build on previous
climate summits by accelerating the transition from commitments to
implementation, particularly in adaptation, mitigation, and climate
finance.
Suleiman stressed the importance of COP31 outcomes supporting
developing countries in implementing their climate commitments while
taking national circumstances and priorities into account.
He also emphasized continued Jordanian-Turkish coordination on
environmental and climate issues at the bilateral and international
levels.
