Jordan Valley, Water Authorities Discuss Development of Additional Water Sources

Amman, July 19 (Petra) — As demand for water rises during the summer
season, water authorities are reviewing the readiness of key northern
water sources and operational measures to help maintain reliable
supplies.

Secretary-General of the Jordan Valley Authority Hisham Al-Hayesa and
Secretary-General of the Water Authority of Jordan Sufian Batayneh
visited several northern water facilities to assess current
operations, production levels and procedures for managing available
water resources.

During the visit, technical teams presented an overview of water
output, operating systems and the steps being implemented to ensure
continued supply and respond to increased demand during the summer
period, according to a statement from the Ministry of Water and
Irrigation issued on Sunday.

The officials highlighted the importance of strengthening
coordination between the Jordan Valley Authority and the Water
Authority of Jordan to improve resource management, enhance water
security and raise the efficiency of services provided to citizens.

They also stressed the need to continue exploring opportunities to
develop additional water sources as part of efforts to support future
