second quarter of 2026.
– The Economic Activity Confidence Index rose 74.3% to 200 points.
– Real GDP growth accelerated to 3% year-on-year in the second
quarter.
– Foreign direct investment inflows totaled approximately JD458
million.
Amman, October 5 (Petra) – The Jordanian Investor Confidence Index,
issued by the Jordan Strategy Forum, rose 21.9% in the second quarter
of 2026, reaching 186.6 points, compared with 153.1 points in the
first quarter.
The Economic Activity Confidence Index rose 74.3% in the second
quarter, reaching 200 points, up from 114.7 points in the first
quarter and marking its highest quarterly level in the past three
years.
Real GDP growth reached 3% in the second quarter of 2026, compared
with 2.8% during the same quarter of 2025 and 2.9% in the first
quarter of 2026.
The general budget deficit, after grants, stood at approximately
JD557 million in the second quarter, down from JD722 million in the
first quarter of the year.
Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows reached approximately JD458
million in the second quarter, marking the second-highest quarterly
level recorded over the past three years.
The interest-rate differential between the Jordanian dinar and the US
dollar stood at 2.0 percentage points during the second quarter.
The Amman Stock Exchange index rose by 305 points, reaching 7,517
points in the second quarter, compared with 7,212 points in the first
quarter.
According to the Jordan Strategy Forum, the index reflects ongoing
efforts to attract investment to the Kingdom and improve the business
environment, contributing to higher living standards for Jordanians.
