Jordan’s industrial production up 0.04% in early 2026-DoS

Amman, June 25 (Petra) – Department of Statistics (DoS) reported a
0.04% rise in the Industrial Production Index (IPI) in the first four
months of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025.

The index stood at 87.16 points, up from 87.12 in 2026.

By sector, production in mining and quarrying rose 5.06% at a volume
of 5.4%, while electricity output increased 3.64% at a weight of
5.9%. Manufacturing, which accounts for 88.7% of the index, declined
0.48%.

On a monthly basis, the DoS figures showed industrial production
index fell 1.19% in April 2026, compared with April 2025, reaching
84.41 points versus 85.43.

Compared with March 2026, the index dropped from 89.06 to 84.41,
driven by declines in manufacturing, which slumped 5.15% and
electricity production drop at 14.03%, despite a 4.49% increase in
mining and quarrying output.

The department attributed the year-on-year April decline to lower
manufacturing output, partially offset by gains in mining and
electricity generation.
