New York, June 17 (Petra) — The three major US stock indices closed
lower on Wednesday, while the price of US benchmark West Texas
Intermediate (WTI) crude settled at $76.12 per barrel.
At the close of trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 507
points, or 0.98 percent, to finish at 51,492 points.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index fell 354 points, or 1.34
percent, closing at 26,021 points.
Concurrently, the S&P 500 Index lost approximately 91 points, or 1.22
percent, to end the session at 7,520 points.
