During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the 15th session of the Islamic Summit Conference, scheduled for May 4-5 in Banjul, the two ministers examined bilateral relations and ways of strengthening them further.

In a statement to the press following the talks, Djibouti’s FM said that this “cordial” meeting with his Moroccan counterpart provided an opportunity to examine the strong relations between the two countries and ways of further consolidating them.

The meeting took place in the presence of Mohamed Methqal, ambassador, director general of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI), and Dya-Eddine Saïd Bamakhrama and Mohamed Douhour Hersi, Djibouti’s ambassador to the OIC and Djibouti’s ambassador to Morocco, respectively.

Bourita had previously held a series of meetings with several of his counterparts taking part in the Islamic summit, which kicked off on Saturday in the Gambian capital.

His talks with the Foreign Ministers of Yemen, Niger, Brunei, Gabon, Mali, the Gambia, Senegal and Mauritania focused on strengthening bilateral relations and a number of other topics of common interest.
