Moroccan FM Holds Talks with Yemeni Counterpart in Banjul

Discussions between the two ministers focused on strengthening relations between Morocco and the Republic of Yemen and ways of further enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields.

On this occasion, Bourita reiterated the Kingdom of Morocco’s support for the unity, stability and sovereignty of brotherly Yemen, under the leadership of the Presidential Council.

The Moroccan minister also stressed the rejection of foreign interference in Yemen’s internal affairs.

On the bilateral level, the two ministers underlined the importance of strengthening sectoral cooperation between the two countries. 

In a statement to MAP following the meeting, the Yemeni minister stressed that Morocco and Yemen enjoy long-standing ties of fraternity at all levels.

Al-Zindani added that he had discussed with his Moroccan counterpart several issues of common interest, emphasizing Morocco’s support for Yemen’s government, its legitimate authority and its stability and unity.

“We aspire to enhance bilateral relations in all sectoral fields,” he stated.

This meeting took place on the occasion of the 15th session of the Islamic Summit Conference, scheduled for May 4 and 5 in Banjul, under the theme “Enhancing Unity and Solidarity Through Dialogue For Sustainable Development”, in the presence of the Moroccan ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mustapha Mansouri, and the ambassador, director general of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation, Mohamed Methqal.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, held talks, Thursday in Banjul with Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Shayea Mohsen Al-Zindani.
