Moscow, June 22 (Petra) — Moscow’s four major international airports
resumed operations on Monday following a temporary suspension of
flights triggered by a wave of drone attacks targeting the Russian
capital, government authorities announced.

The flight suspensions at Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and
Zhukovsky airports lasted for several hours after defense systems
were activated to intercept unmanned aerial vehicles heading toward
the city.

“Once the threat was neutralized and airspace safety protocols were
restored over the capital, airport operations were subsequently
resumed following the temporary flight suspension,” Moscow Mayor
Sergei Sobyanin said during a press briefing.

Sobyanin added that civil aviation authorities will maintain ongoing
coordination to ensure strict compliance with security standards for
passenger and aircraft safety.
