Nanotechnology Applications Take Center Stage at Scientific Lecture

Amman, Oct. 4 (Petra) — The potential of nanotechnology to advance
scientific research, industrial development and innovation was the
focus of a specialized lecture organized by the Jordanian Society for
Scientific Research, Entrepreneurship and Creativity on Saturday
evening.

The lecture, titled “Nanotechnology and Its Multiple Applications: A
Future Vision,” brought together researchers, academics and
specialists to examine emerging applications of the technology and
prospects for translating scientific research into practical
solutions and market-ready products.

Tamara Athmanah, assistant professor at the Nanotechnology Institute
at Jordan University of Science and Technology and scientific
research and innovation adviser at Manaseer Group, said
nanotechnology has growing applications across scientific, industrial
and development fields.

She outlined a range of promising applications and highlighted the
technology’s potential to support innovation and develop advanced
solutions to contemporary challenges.

Athmanah stressed the importance of moving research outcomes beyond
laboratories by developing technologies and products with practical
applications, supported by stronger partnerships between
universities, industry and institutions that fund and promote
research and innovation.

Participants discussed ways to strengthen the scientific research and
innovation ecosystem, including greater support for researchers and
projects capable of delivering measurable economic and social impact.

They also emphasized the role of academic and industrial institutions
in converting scientific knowledge and research findings into
practical solutions, calling for nanotechnology research to be more
closely aligned with the needs of industry and national development.

Society President Reda Al-Khawaldeh, who moderated the lecture, said
specialized scientific forums help facilitate the exchange of
expertise and strengthen connections among researchers, academics and
relevant sectors.

He reaffirmed the society’s commitment to promoting scientific
dialogue and initiatives that support research, entrepreneurship and
innovation in Jordan.
