Amman, June 15 (Petra) — The Northern Military Zone on Sunday foiled
an infiltration attempt by an individual who illegally crossed the
border from Syrian territory into Jordanian territory.
The Jordan Armed Forces said rules of engagement were applied, and
the individual was arrested and referred to the relevant authorities.
Early Monday, the zone also foiled an attempt to smuggle a quantity
of narcotics using a drone on its northern front. Border Guard forces
detected the drone, applied the rules of engagement, and shot it down
inside Jordanian territory. The seized materials were transferred to
the relevant authorities.
