Oman Intensifies Diplomacy to Defuse Regional Escalation, Promote International StabilityMuscat, 17 Jun (ONA) —- The Sultanate of Oman continues to intensify its diplomatic efforts to contain the dangerous escalation unfolding in the region and to prevent the expansion of tensions resulting from repeated Israeli aggressions. These efforts are grounded in Oman’s steadfast approach centered on fostering constructive dialogue, upholding international law, and advocating for peaceful solutions as the foundation for achieving regional security and stability.Oman’s active engagement reflects its strategic vision of building trust among international actors and its pivotal role as a credible mediator in regional crises. In this context, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi Foreign Minister, led the Omani delegation at the 48th Extraordinary Session of the GCC Ministerial Council, held yesterday under the presidency of the State of Kuwait, the current chair of the Council, to discuss the rapidly evolving regional developments.The meeting concluded with a joint statement strongly condemning the Israeli attacks on the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, describing them as a blatant violation of national sovereignty and international law. The statement called for urgent de-escalation and a return to diplomatic negotiations, while commending Oman’s prominent role in facilitating dialogue on the Iranian nuclear file, which is an essential pillar for resolving the ongoing conflict and strengthening regional security.In parallel with these efforts, the Foreign Minister continued intensive telephonic consultations with counterparts in a number of brotherly and friendly countries, as well as key international partners, including Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission. These discussions focused on aligning international positions, enhancing political and legal pressure to halt Israeli attacks immediately, and pushing toward comprehensive negotiating tracks that would restore stability and avert the dangers of further military escalation in the region.—- Ends/Khalid
