Intensifies Preparations for 27th Gulf Cup
Muscat, 25 Aug 2026 (ONA) — The
domestic training camp of Oman’s national football team, held at the Sultan
Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, has witnessed in recent days a high degree of
focus on physical and technical preparation, alongside complete discipline from
all players.
The camp, conducted under the
guidance of Moroccan coach Tarik Sektioui, Head Coach of the national team,
forms part of the preparatory programme for the 27th Gulf Cup, which will be
hosted by Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 23 September to 6 October.
Its primary objective has been to
assess the physical and technical levels of all players named in the provisional
squad, enhance teamwork and cohesion, and ensure the team attains optimal
readiness for the tournament.
Oman will open its tournament
campaign against Iraq on 23 September, followed by a match against hosts Saudi
Arabia on 26 September, and will conclude the group stage with a fixture
against Kuwait on 29 September.
