Olympic Committee Organizes Forum for Athletes Participating in Asian Games
Muscat,
11 Aug 2026 (ONA) — Oman Olympic Committee, represented by the Omani Athletes
Committee, organized the Elite Forum for athletes participating in the 20th
Asian Games “Aichi-Nagoya 2026”, scheduled to be held next September.
The
organization of the forum comes within the framework of Oman Olympic
Committee’s keenness to enhance the readiness of athletes participating in the
Asian Games and prepare them with various knowledge and information that
contribute to supporting their participation and honorable representation of
the Sultanate of Oman, alongside promoting direct communication between
athletes, the Omani Athletes Committee, and relevant entities.
The
Sultanate of Oman is participating in the Games’ competitions through ten
national teams represented in athletics, taekwondo, shooting, hockey, golf,
fencing, cricket, weightlifting, sailing, and beach volleyball.
The
forum included several awareness and knowledge pillars that focused on sports,
administrative, health, psychological, and legal aspects associated with
athletes’ participation in major sports events. These included raising
athletes’ awareness of their rights and duties in accordance with the
principles of the Olympic Movement, promoting a culture of athlete protection
and providing a safe sports environment, spreading awareness about anti-doping
and compliance with relevant international regulations and rules, alongside
enhancing psychological well-being and managing stress associated with major
competitions.
The
forum also sought to familiarize athletes with administrative procedures,
travel arrangements, and official representation of the Sultanate of Oman, as
well as enhancing the clarity of roles and responsibilities and elevating
readiness levels before and during participation in the Games.
The
forum featured a diverse program of presentations, awareness sessions, and
panel discussions addressing a group of pillars related to athletes’ readiness
to participate in the Asian Games.
The
forum’s program concluded with a panel discussion with the athletes, offering
them a space to interact, raise inquiries, and discuss various topics related
to their participation in the Asian Games, in addition to exchanging views and
raising challenges and needs with the Omani Athletes Committee and relevant
entities.
