Muscat, 21 Sep 2026 (ONA) — The Sultanate of Oman participated
today, via video conferencing, in the sixth preparatory meeting of the GCC
Investment Undersecretaries Committee, in preparation for the meetings of the
ministerial committees of the Ministers of Commerce, Industry and Investment of
the GCC states, scheduled to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Sultanate of Oman was represented at the meeting by Ibtisam Ahmed
Al Farooji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment
Promotion for Investment Promotion.
The meeting discussed a number of topics related to enhancing
investment integration among the GCC states and developing frameworks for
cooperation and joint Gulf action in the field of investment, thereby
contributing to unifying efforts and strengthening the ability of the GCC
states to attract quality investments and draw capital from various global
markets.
The meeting also examined ways to enhance coordination among the
GCC states in investment fields and to leverage the assets and opportunities
enjoyed by the Gulf states, in a manner that supports the building of a more
integrated investment ecosystem and enhances the competitiveness of the GCC
states and their standing as an attractive destination for regional and
international investments.
The meeting addressed a number of topics pertaining to the
development of joint Gulf investment work and the enhancement of information
and expertise exchange among the GCC states, alongside examining mechanisms for
supporting cooperation and coordination in a manner that contributes to
achieving shared economic interests and strengthening the presence of the GCC
states on the regional and international investment map.
