Oman to Host Asian Hockey Federation Women’s Cup

Al Amerat, 9 July 2026 (ONA) — The Sultanate of Oman,
represented by Oman Hockey Association, will host the “Hadid Muscat”
(Muscat Iron) Women’s Asian Hockey Federation Cup. The tournament will be held
at Oman Hockey Stadium in the Wilayat of Al Amerat from 12 to 18 July 2026,
with the participation of five Asian national teams.

The competing teams include Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan,
Pakistan, and Hong Kong. The teams will compete over the course of a week in
matches expected to be highly competitive and closely contested, given the
proximity of their technical levels and their shared ambition to achieve
positive results in this Asian qualification event.

The organizing committee has completed all technical and
logistical preparations for hosting the tournament, including the readiness of
the competition pitch and training grounds, the reception of participating
delegations, and the finalization of all administrative and logistical
arrangements. These efforts ensure the tournament is conducted in accordance
with the standards of the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) and reflect the
organizational expertise acquired by Oman Hockey Association through its
hosting of numerous continental and international championships.

The tournament is among the premier women’s events organized by
the Asian Hockey Federation and contributes to the technical development of
participating teams by providing players with the opportunity to compete
against different playing styles and schools. This supports the growth and
development of women’s hockey across the continent, while also fostering
cooperation and strengthening sporting ties among member national federations.

The Sultanate of Oman’s hosting of this tournament extends its
distinguished record of organizing hockey championships at both regional and
continental levels, building on its modern sporting infrastructure and
qualified organizational cadres. This has reinforced the confidence of the
Asian Hockey Federation in Oman’s capacity to host a wide range of tournaments
