Board of Directors Approves Regulatory Regulation for Al Wadi Al Kabir

1 Dec 2025 (ONA) — The Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Special
Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) held its fourth meeting for 2025, chaired
by Sheikh Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy, Chairman of the Board.
The
Board approved the Regulatory Regulation for Al Wadi Al Kabir Industrial City,
which is managed by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates
“Madayn”. This is aimed at enhancing the service infrastructure and developing
the services offered to investors and industrial projects.
The
Board approved amendments to the Regulatory Regulation for Salalah Free Zone to
make it more flexible and attractive to investors, thus contributing to the
development of the economic sector in the region.
The
Board also approved the Draft Executive Regulation for the Law of Special
Economic Zones and Free Zones and its implementing decisions. This aims to update
the regulatory and legal framework for the economic and free zones in line with
economic developments and investment requirements. Furthermore, the Board
approved the project for restructuring the subsidiaries of Oman Investment and
Development Holding Company “Mubadrah” for the years 2025-2027. The
Board also adopted the organizational structure for the Special Economic Zone
at Duqm (SEZAD).
