Palestinian Foreign Ministry Condemns West Bank Razing Operations, Forced Displacement
Ramallah, June 14 (QNA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Israeli occupation soldiers’ embarking on conducting a wide razing operation of homes, as well as residential and commercial facilities in the West Bank.
The leveling operations in the Khur Al-Daba’a area of Barta’a Al-Sharqiya, south-west of Jenin, are part of a methodical Israeli policy to dispossess the Palestinians and depopulate the occupied Palestinian territory of its original inhabitants, including East Jerusalem, the Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
The statement stressed that this policy seeks to consolidate annexation and creeping settlement projects in the occupied West Bank in brazen flouting of international law, international humanitarian law, and resolutions of international legitimacy.
The repeated targeting of Khur Al-Daba’a and the razing of eight homes and facilities over the past week exposes the true nature of this occupation, the statement confirmed, indicating that this policy demonstrates that the Israeli authorities are blithely determined to leverage their judicial and administrative tools to provide a fake legal cover for the razing and forced displacement crimes and the impounding of lands.
Consequently, the Ministry urged the international community, the United Nations, and international human rights institutions to immediately spring into action to halt these crimes and operations by the occupation authorities.
It stressed that what matters most is to provide international protection for the Palestinian people and hold those responsible for these grave violations to account, as well as take practical and deterrent measures to coerce Israel – the de facto occupying power – to live up to its international obligations in respecting international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.
The statement further stressed that there must be an end to the policy of impunity that allows the Israeli occupation to persistently perpetrate crimes against the Palestinian people, as well as their lands and sacred places.
Almost 100 Palestinians inhabit the targeted homes and facilities in Khur Al-Daba’a, implying their displacement and deprivation of their fundamental rights in a new forced displacement added to the record of continuous Israeli abuses against the Palestinians. (QNA)
