Ramallah, June 24 (Petra) – A Palestinian man succumbed to his wounds
on Wednesday after being shot by Israeli special forces, who besieged
a house in the town of Ya’bad, west of Jenin in the north of the
occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

It said in a statement that Mohammad Ezzat, 29, was killed by Israeli
troops and the army held his body.

Israeli special forces infiltrated Ya’bad, surrounded a house, and
opened fire on a man inside, fatally wounding him, it said, adding
that soldiers prevented ambulance crews from reaching his body.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces launched widespread
search-and-arrest raids in several towns, villages and refugee camps
across the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem as Israeli settlers
stepped up attacks against Palestinians in various areas.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club said 15 Palestinians were arrested
before being transferred to interrogation centers set by the army.
The occupation forces also ransacked dozens of homes and held
residents for hours.

Jewish settlers attacked homes in Burin village, south of Nablus in
the northern West Bank and damaged two vehicles, said Ibrahim Imran,
head of the local council.

Four Palestinians were injured after inhaling tear gas fired by
soldiers in the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, where settlers
uprooted 60 trees, local residents said.
