Amman, Jan. 21 (Petra) – The Public Security Directorate (PSD) Camel Corps team secured the golden cup in the Arab Camel and Heritage Festival, which concluded its activities in the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh.
According to a PSD statement on Tuesday, the team bagged two golden medals for camel racing and beauty competitions and carried out “distinguished” performances during the contests.
Jordanian and Egyptian camels competed “strongly” for garnering the top places, as the Kingdom’s team managed to win the golden cup in the championship that was held under official sponsorship and attended by leaders of Arab camel federations, the statement pointed out.
The event also saw participation of six Arab countries of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait, in addition to Tunisia and Algeria, while 17 Egyptian governorates engaged in the championship.
The PSD took part in the tournament with a delegation, comprised of the camel riders: Mishaal Mesbahein, Ahmed Daboubi, and Ayham Zawaideh.
