Doha, July 08 (QNA) – The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Culture, will be the guest of honor at the 40th edition of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Held under the theme “A Legacy That Endures… Generations Meet,” the Festival will run from July 22 to August 2.
The State of Qatar will participate with a diverse cultural and artistic program that reflects the richness of its cultural identity and national heritage, and presents to the Festival’s visitors a comprehensive image of Qatar’s cultural landscape.
Officials said the participation comes as part of efforts to strengthen cultural cooperation and partnership between Qatar and Jordan.
It also reflects the Ministry of Culture’s commitment to expanding the presence of Qatari culture at Arab cultural events, showcasing Qatar’s literary, artistic, and heritage achievements, thereby promoting cultural exchange and building bridges of communication among peoples.
The State of Qatar will set an official pavilion at the festival, which will offer an immersive cultural experience showcasing key aspects of the country’s cultural identity through a collection of exhibits.
The pavilion will also highlight a number of Qatar’s intangible cultural heritage, underscoring the nation’s rich, authentic, and diverse cultural heritage.
The program will include poetry evenings organized by the Qatar Poetry Center, with a select group of poets from the Mathayel Nabati Poetry Competition, in addition to traditional folk performances by the Qatari folkloric band “Al Jubailat”, featuring artist Omar Bou Saqr.
Qatar’s participation will conclude with a musical concert starring artists Ali Abdul Sattar and Mansoor Almuhannadi.
Having Qatar as the festival’s guest of honor, reflects the country’s growing cultural stature in the Arab world and embodies its commitment to fostering cultural dialogue and ties among peoples, as well as presenting both traditional and contemporary Qatari cultural forms and enhancing their presence on the regional scene, the Ministry of Culture said.
