Hangzhou/China, July 23 (QNA) – Qatari shooter Rashid Saleh Al Athba captured the gold medal in the men’s individual skeet event at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup (Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun), currently taking place in Hangzhou, China, featuring an elite field of world-class athletes.
This victory marks the Qatari national team’s first-ever individual gold medal in the history of its participation in the ISSF World Cup series. The milestone achievement adds to Qatar’s distinguished sporting record and further cements the country’s standing in shooting sports on both continental and international stages.
President of the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association, Dr. Mishal Ibrahim Al Nasr commended Rashid Al Athba on his gold-medal triumph.
He stated that this historic achievement stands as a testament to the continuous, unlimited support provided to Qatari sports in general and shooting sports in particular, which has been instrumental in enabling Qatari athletes to reach top international podiums. (QNA)
