Amman, May 14 (Petra) – Minister of Environment Dr. Muawieh Radaideh on Wednesday honored the 10 Jordanian winning companies out of the total 61 that competed in the National Call for Green Innovation Award.
The initiative falls within the Green Action in Enterprises (GAIN) project, funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
During the honoring ceremony held at the ministry’s headquarters, Radaideh noted the project aligns with the Economic Modernization Vision and the ministry’s plans and strategies to support youth in the green economy and sustainable economic growth fields.
The minister said these companies received technical assistance specifically designed for green business modeling, financial planning, and investment readiness to support and develop their green business ideas.
The minister also praised GIZ’s efforts and its “active” role in providing support for this project.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, five companies and GIZ signed memoranda of understanding to provide a “JumpStart” grant for the target companies, while the 10 winning firms will receive ongoing expert advice.
