Amman, June 24 (Petra) — Representatives of the Royal Scientific
Society (RSS) and Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) on
Wednesday discussed prospects for expanding cooperation with an
Indian delegation in technology and scientific research during a
meeting attended by Indian Ambassador to Jordan Manish Chauhan.

During the meeting, the two sides explored opportunities to
strengthen partnerships in technological innovation, solar energy,
water desalination, recycling, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence
and advanced computing, with a focus on knowledge transfer and
expertise exchange.

Both sides called for developing “sustainable” cooperation programs
that support development priorities and keep pace with rapid advances
in scientific and technological sectors.

The attendees also proposed activating student and academic exchange
programs between Jordanian and Indian universities, as well as joint
workshops and research projects aimed at deepening institutional
cooperation and opening new avenues for future partnerships.

The discussions also called for directing cooperation to achieve
market-oriented and practical solutionsand linking scientific
research outputs with the needs of productive sectors and supporting
innovation and entrepreneurship.

Talking at the meeting, RSS Vice President for Technology Nabeel
Fayoumi outlined the technological
requirements and solutions used to automate operational processes and
data management across the society’s sectors, highlighting measures
to protect information systems and data.

Fayoumi said the society has provided technical consultancy and
support to various sectors in Jordan and contributed to developing
advanced software solutions tailored to institutional needs, helping
improve efficiency and digital services.

In turn, PSUT President Wejdan Abu Elhaija presented the university’s
academic programs, with particular emphasis on emerging disciplines,
especially cybersecurity programs designed to meet growing demand
driven by rapid digital transformation.

Meanwhile, Indian Deputy National Security Adviser TV Ravichandran
praised the advanced capabilities of the Royal Scientific Society and
Princess Sumaya University for Technology in cybersecurity and
artificial intelligence, saying the achievements reflect sustained
efforts to strengthen Jordan’s technological infrastructure and
research capabilities.

He underscored the importance of building on these achievements
through broader cooperation and expertise exchange to advance
critical technology sectors.
