Russia increases LNG supplies to Asia by 40 percent

Moscow, June 17 (Petra) — Russia’s Ministry of Energy announced on
Wednesday a nearly 40 percent increase in its liquefied natural gas
(LNG) supplies to partners in Asian markets, driven by growing energy
demand in the region.

The ministry stated in a press release that energy consumption in
Southeast Asian countries is projected to increase 2.6 times over the
coming years.

In response to these market shifts, Russia has actively pivoted
toward new energy corridors, boosting its exports of natural gas and
other energy resources across Asian markets, the statement added.
