Senate Head: King’s accession to throne, a nation’s Journey of pride, glory

Amman, June 8 (Petra) – Senate President Faisal Fayez said on Monday
that as Jordanians celebrates His Majesty King Abdullah II’s
accession to the throne, they recall an ongoing journey of giving,
achievement, pride and glory under his leadership.

Since his accession to the throne, His Majesty has carried the
Hashemite banner with competence, high aspirations, and boundless
ambition, leading Jordan towards great accomplishments, he said.

“His Majesty has pursued the legacy of Hashemite kings, spearheading
the march of construction, development, and modernization across all
its political, economic, and administrative dimensions,” he said in a
press release by the Senate.

“This aims to enhance political and party life, achieve programmatic
parliamentary governments, overcome economic challenges, attract
investments, empower women and youth, provide the best services to
citizens, and build a Jordan capable of facing the challenges of the
region with unwavering courage and determination,” he said.

Since assuming his constitutional powers and ascending the throne,
His Majesty has continued his efforts to solidify Jordan’s role on
both the Arab and international stages, he said.

Thanks to his wisdom and political acumen, Jordan has become a
pivotal regional state, having won significant international respect,
said Fayez.

“On this momentous anniversary, we in the Senate renew allegiance and
pledge to His Majesty to continue standing behind his wise leadership
and support his positions and great efforts for the advancement and
progress of our nation,” he added.

The Senate head also noted that His Majesty remained a staunch
supporter of the Arab and Islamic nation, following in the footsteps
of Hashemite leaders in defending pan-Arab causes, foremost of which
is the Palestinian issue. His endeavors have continued through
international platforms and various meetings with world leaders to
stop the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in
the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, and to enable the
Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights, he added.

Fayez said the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian
holy sites in Jerusalem is a historical and religious Hashemite
legacy. For this reason, His Majesty has continued to maintain this
legacy, protecting the holy shrines and preventing their Judaization
or any alteration to their legal and historical status quo, he added.

His Majesty’s accession to the throne will remain a cherished moment
in Jordan’s history, a day Jordanians recall his tireless efforts and
unwavering dedication to establishing the foundations of progress and
stability, he said, reiterating the pledge of allegiance to the King.
