Amman, June 21 (Petra) – Government Spokesperson and Minister of
Government Communication Mohammad Al-Momani announced that
authorities executed six convicts by hanging at dawn on Sunday, June
21, 2026.

The executions targeted individuals convicted of capital offenses
falling under the jurisdiction of the State Security Court. Al-Momani
confirmed that the death sentences were carried out after attaining
absolute finality and exhausting all requisite constitutional and
statutory legal procedures. The processing occurred under the direct
oversight of the Attorney General of the State Security Court, in
application of Article 359 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Official records detail the specific security and anti-narcotics
operations tied to each convict:

The 2018 Salt Terrorist Cell
The death penalty was executed against Mahmoud Nayef Mousa and Anas
Anwar Adel Saleh. The two individuals were convicted of orchestrating
and executing a coordinated terrorist cell operation in Salt in 2018.
The assault resulted in the deaths of six security personnel:
Lieutenant Colonel Moath Khamis Al-Damani, Warrant Officer Ali Adnan
Qawqazah, Sergeant Hisham Abdul Rahman Al-Aqarbah, Corporal Mohammad
Ahmad Bani Yassin, Corporal Mohammad Khaled Al-Hayajneh, and Corporal
Ahmad Idris Al-Zoubi.

The 2022 Al-Dalabeeh Assassination
The sentence was carried out against Ibrahim Mansour Mohammad, who
was convicted of a localized terrorist attack in late 2022 that
claimed the life of Brigadier General Abdul Razzaq Al-Dalabeeh.

Fatal Resistance to Anti-Narcotics Enforcement
The final three executions involved high-level narcotics traffickers
who utilized lethal force against public safety officers during
targeted law enforcement raids:
Hamzeh Mahmoud Mansour, a convicted drug trafficker, was executed for
opening fire on security personnel during an enforcement operation in
2014, an encounter that resulted in the death of Corporal Hosam Taleb
Al-Abadi.

Khaled Assaf Fayez, also a convicted narcotics dealer, faced
execution following a 2017 armed confrontation where his violent
resistance to an anti-drug task force led to the death of Warrant
Officer Mohammad Salameh Al-Saqarat.

Ihab Maher Kamal was executed for using armed resistance against
officers enforcing the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law
during a 2018 raid, which resulted in the death of First Lieutenant
Ahmad Khaled Al-Rawahneh.
