Amman, July 9 (Petra) — Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani
Mustafa on Thursday discussed cooperation in social fields with
Secretary-General of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development
(ACCD) and Executive Director of the Arab Network for NGOs (ANNGO)
Hoda El Bakr.

Bani Mustafa said Jordan, under His Majesty King Abdullah II’s
leadership, places “strong” focus on childhood, family affairs,
social protection and persons with disabilities as part of its
comprehensive modernization efforts.

Talking at the meeting, she said royal directives have contributed to
improving Jordan’s social care services in line with national and
international standards and best practices.

The minister highlighted the role of the two Arab bodies in
supporting childhood and family issues, implementing protection and
empowerment programs, and advancing social policies across Arab
countries.

Locally, she reviewed the ministry’s efforts to develop social
services, enhance their quality and expand their reach in cooperation
with national, regional and international partners.

Bani Mustafa stressed the importance of coordination and exchanging
expertise among government institutions, civil society organizations
and international partners to ensure more efficient and sustainable
social services for target groups.

Meanwhile, El Bakr emphasized the importance of partnership with the
Ministry of Social Development in implementing social programs,
particularly activities targeting vulnerable groups, expressing
interest in strengthening cooperation in the future.
