Amman, Sept. 13 (Petra) – The Southern Military Zone early Sunday
foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics into
Jordan using guided balloons within its area of responsibility.
Border Guard units detected the balloons, intercepted them, and
brought them down inside Jordanian territory, seizing their narcotics
cargo in coordination with security and military agencies and the
Anti-Narcotics Department.
The seized drugs were referred to the competent authorities for the
necessary legal procedures.
The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army reaffirmed that safeguarding the
Kingdom’s security and stability remains a top priority and that it
will continue taking the necessary measures to protect Jordan’s
borders.
