Sports Flame 2026 Event to Launch in Muscat Tuesday

Muscat, 12 July 2026 (ONA) — The Sports Flame 2026 event, one
of the Sultanate of Oman’s premier summer sports and entertainment festivals,
will officially open this Tuesday, at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The two-day event provides a dynamic sport, commercial and
marketing platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and
entrepreneurs, enabling them to capitalize on the anticipated public turnout
through available participation opportunities in product and service offerings,
retail outlet operations, food and beverage provision, as well as logistical,
technical, marketing and other event-related services.

The “Sports Flame” event is committed to maximizing
the utilization of local capabilities and expertise, while creating
opportunities for companies, suppliers and SMEs to take part in the execution
of works and the delivery of associated services. This approach contributes to
retaining a greater share of expenditure within the national economy and
enhancing local value addition. The reliance ratios on local suppliers and the
value of contracts awarded to them will be determined based on the final data
pertaining to contracts, procurement and operations.

Sports and entertainment events play a pivotal role in building
an interconnected economic ecosystem encompassing event organizers, sports and
entertainment facilities, SMEs, restaurants and cafés, technology, marketing,
transport and logistics companies, among other activities. This is achieved
through increased participation of local enterprises, greater reliance on
national suppliers, the development of Omani competencies and the encouragement
of investment in sports and entertainment products and services.
