Amman, Sept. 19 (Petra)– Despite the limitations imposed by the Isreali occupation at the military checkpoints surrounding Jerusalem, the entrances to the Old City, and the mosque itself, tens of thousands of worshipers attended Friday prayers at the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) was informed by local sources that Sheikh Muhammad Sarandah, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, was taken to an interrogation center by the occupation police following Friday prayer.
Worshipers’ entrance to the mosque at the military checkpoints encircling Jerusalem was restricted by the occupation authorities. They erected iron walls around the Old City and Al-Aqsa and closed the checkpoint at the Shuafat refugee camp. They stopped others from getting to the mosque and arrested dozens of young guys, collecting and examining their identification.
