Amman, June 15 (Petra) — The Jordan Tourism Board, in cooperation
with the Jordanian Embassy in Algeria, organized a celebration
marking the Kingdom’s national occasions, including the 80th
anniversary of independence.
According to a statement issued by the Tourism Board on Monday, the
event was held under the patronage of Jordanian Ambassador to Algeria
Ahed Sweidat and was attended by senior Algerian officials, members
of the diplomatic corps and representatives of the Jordanian
community.
The Algerian government was represented by Minister of Pharmaceutical
Industry Wassim Kouidri, while attendees also included
representatives of the speakers of both houses of parliament, members
of the Constitutional Court and judiciary, ambassadors of Arab and
foreign countries, and media representatives.
During the event, Ambassador Sweidat highlighted the Kingdom’s
ongoing development and modernization process under the leadership of
His Majesty King Abdullah II, stressing the depth of the longstanding
fraternal relations between Jordan and Algeria and the shared
commitment to strengthening cooperation across various fields.
On the sidelines of the celebration, a dedicated exhibition area
showcased Jordanian companies and banks operating in Algeria,
highlighting economic and commercial ties between the two countries.
The event also featured cultural, heritage and tourism presentations
aimed at promoting Jordan’s tourism attractions, rich cultural
heritage and national identity to a diverse audience of officials,
diplomats and media representatives.
The celebration formed part of broader efforts to strengthen
bilateral relations and enhance awareness of Jordan’s cultural,
tourism and economic achievements.
