Al-Bagair, August 30, 2026 (SUNA) – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, on Sunday inspected the GIAD Engineering Industries Group in Al-Bagair and reviewed ongoing efforts to rehabilitate and restart factories damaged by the rebel Al-Dagalo militia. The TSC President received a briefing from GIAD Group Chief Executive Officer Abdalla Abd Al-Ma’rouf on the extent of damage sustained by the group’s facilities, efforts to rehabilitate them and resume operations and production, as well as plans to restore all of the group’s sectors to operation. General Al-Burhan commended the significant efforts being made by GIAD employees to restore the group’s industrial and production activities. He stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to return the group to its full operational capacity and restore its various production lines. The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council underscored GIAD’s important role in supporting the national economy and contributing to Sudan’s reconstruction efforts, including the rehabilitation of infrastructure, facilities and installations damaged during the war.BH/BH
