ANKARA, July 29, 2026 (SUNA) – Presidential Adviser to the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) for Political Affairs and Foreign Relations Dr. Amjad Farid met on Wednesday at the Presidential Complex in Ankara with Turkish Presidential Adviser for Foreign Policy and National Security Akif Cagatay Kilic to discuss developments in Sudan and the region and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.  The meeting addressed the repercussions of the war in Sudan, with Dr. Amjad Farid noting that the discussions reflected the Turkish decision-makers’ deep understanding of the challenges facing Sudan amid the ongoing conflict and its humanitarian, security, and regional implications. The two sides also discussed the importance of developing a more effective international and regional position towards the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, including addressing it according to its nature as a terrorist organisation and working to cut off external supply and support networks that have contributed to prolonging the war and deepening the suffering of the Sudanese people. The meeting further stressed the need to move from temporary regional understandings towards building long-term strategic partnerships among countries of the region based on equality, mutual respect, and shared interests to support stability and sustainable development. Dr. Amjad Farid expressed his appreciation for the warm reception, fruitful discussions, and positive spirit of cooperation, expressing hope that the shared visions would be translated into practical steps that strengthen Sudan–Türkiye relations and serve the interests of both peoples.BH/BH
