Amman, May 10 (Petra) – President of the University of Jordan, Nathir Obeidat, strongly dismissed claims made by a London-based news website regarding Jordan’s role in delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza, labeling them as baseless and part of a broader campaign to undermine Jordan’s long-standing support for the Palestinian cause.
In a statement issued Saturday, Obeidat emphasized that such attacks aim to discredit Jordan’s unwavering humanitarian and political efforts, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, to end the Israeli aggression on Gaza and provide consistent aid to those affected.
“Since the onset of the aggression, Jordan has been engaged in a relentless relief campaign to break the siege on Gaza, while also waging a diplomatic battle to expose Israel’s narrative and present Jordan’s principled stance based on moderation, international law, and a commitment to peace,” he said.
Obeidat stressed the university’s academic and cultural role in highlighting Jordan’s contributions and promoting global understanding through advanced education and awareness programs aimed at cultivating a generation that values peace and international cooperation.
“Jordan will remain Arab at heart and in principle, always standing by its fellow Arab nations with unwavering solidarity and without hesitation, regardless of the cost or the misjudgment of others,” he added.
