New York, June 8 (Petra)– UN Secretary-General António Guterres on
Monday announced three senior appointments to the leadership team of
the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Tresa Rae Finnerty of the United States has been appointed as Deputy
High Commissioner for Refugees, succeeding her compatriot Kelly T.
Clements.
Guterres also named Antón Luis García of Spain as Assistant High
Commissioner for Operations, succeeding Raouf Mazou of the Republic
of the Congo.
Additionally, Edem Wosornu of Ghana was appointed as Assistant High
Commissioner for Protection, succeeding Ruvendrini Menikdiwela of Sri
Lanka.
