
US Dollar Posts Marginal Gains Against Major CurrenciesSingapore, 11 Jun (ONA) — The US dollar today edged higher, while the Chinese yuan held steady following the conclusion of trade talks between the United States and China in London.
The US Dollar Index, which measures the dollar against a basket of six major currencies, rose by 0.17% to 99.129 in the latest trading session.
The euro slipped 0.08% to $1.1416, while the British pound fell 0.1% to $1.3484. The US dollar held steady against the Japanese yen, trading at 145.05 yen.
The Chinese yuan showed little change in onshore trading, settling at 7.1867 per dollar, and held steady in offshore markets at 7.1875.
US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said that following two days of intensive trade negotiations in London, US and Chinese officials reached a framework agreement to halt mutual trade actions and remove restrictions on Chinese exports of rare earth minerals and magnets.— Ends/Khalid
