Amman, June 25 (Petra) — Temperatures are expected to remain
seasonally mild through Friday before rising steadily over the
weekend, with Sunday’s highs forecast to climb three to four degrees
above the average for this time of year, according to the Jordan
Meteorological Department.

Forecasters said Thursday and Friday will bring typical summer
conditions, with mild weather prevailing across the highlands and
plains. Relatively hot conditions are expected in the Badia, while
the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba will continue to experience
hot weather.

Moderate northwesterly winds are forecast throughout the two days,
becoming active at times, particularly during the afternoon.

A gradual warming trend is expected to begin on Saturday as
temperatures edge higher. Despite the increase, conditions are
forecast to remain seasonally mild across the higher mountain ranges,
while relatively hot weather develops over the plains. Hot conditions
will persist across the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and
Aqaba.

Temperatures are expected to rise further on Sunday, exceeding the
seasonal average by three to four degrees Celsius. Relatively hot
weather is forecast to extend across the highlands and plains, while
hot conditions will dominate the Badia and the country’s
low-elevation regions. Winds are expected to shift between
northwesterly and northeasterly directions while remaining moderate
in speed.

Thursday’s temperatures are forecast to reach 31 degrees Celsius in
East Amman and 29 degrees in West Amman. Highs are expected at 26 C
in the northern highlands and 27 C in the Sharah highlands, while the
plains are forecast to reach 30 C.

The highest temperatures will be recorded in the southern and
low-lying regions, with forecasts pointing to 36 C in the Badia, 38 C
in the northern Jordan Valley, 39 C at the Dead Sea, 40 C in Aqaba
and 41 C in the southern Jordan Valley.
