Amman, Jan. 2 (Petra) – Jordan’s gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices increased by 2.6 percent during the third quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, according to the Department of Statistics’ quarterly report released Thursday.
The report highlighted that most economic activities experienced growth during this period, with significant contributions from productive sectors. The extractive industries recorded the highest growth at 10.5 percent, contributing 0.22 percentage points to the overall growth.
The agriculture sector followed with a 6 percent increase, adding 0.25 percentage points, while the manufacturing sector grew by 4.3 percent, contributing 0.81 percentage points, making it the largest contributor among the sectors. Additionally, the electricity and water sector posted a 4.2 percent growth, adding 0.08 percentage points.
