Indonesian Delegation Explores Vistas
of Cooperation, Investment with Oman in Medical Tourism

Muscat, 27 September 2026 (ONA) — The
Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) today received a delegation of
representatives of Indonesian companies operating in the health sector.

The visiting delegation explored opportunities
for cooperation and investment in the fields of medical tourism and medical
sciences—in a manner that contributes to the development of the medical tourism
industry and the promotion of industries and services related to this sector.

The meeting reviewed the health
sector’s potential for establishing commercial and investment partnerships in a
number of fields, including specialized medical services, preventive medicine,
genetic medicine, medical research and applications and the manufacturing
of pharmaceutical products, medical supplies and devices, in addition to the
establishment of wellness and hospitalization centres

The two sides also mulled the initiation
of integrated systems in areas associated with medical tourism, including diagnosis and treatment, insurance, travel and tourism agencies,
hotels and hospitality, transport and logistical services that facilitate the
movement of patients, in addition to opportunities for benefiting from the advanced technologies that abound in health
institutions in the two countries.

The participants also reviewed ways
to garner the advantages of the Sultanate of Oman in terms of strategic
location along regional and international routes and markets in GCC states and Arab
and African countries.
