US Tariffs on Mexico, Canada Could Disrupt Global Trade Brussels, 4 Mar (ONA) —- The European Commission has expressed deep
concern over the US decision to levy tariffs on goods from Mexico and
Canada. European Commission Spokesperson Olof Gill said the move would
disrupt global trade and threaten economic stability on both sides of
the Atlantic.
He called on the US to reconsider its approach and work on a
cooperative solution based on principles that benefit all parties.
The twenty-five percent US tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada
came into effect today, after US President Donald Trump announced the two main US trading partners no longer have room to
negotiate to avoid the tariffs.
The US main trading partners – Canada, Mexico and China – together
