Women’s Bowling Championship Kicks Off with Participation of 26 Teams

Muscat,
23 Sep (ONA) — The competitions of the Eighteenth Women’s Bowling Championship
for 2026 kicked off at Fun Zone Hall in Muscat Governorate, with the
participation of 26 teams representing 22 government and private institutions,
156 female players and 5 referees. The championship is organized by the Women’s
Sports Department at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, in cooperation
with Oman Bowling Committee.

The
championship competitions will continue until 30 September. They include team
qualifiers on 20 and 21 September, the singles competition on 22 and 23
September, and the doubles competition on 27 and 28 September. The masters
competition will be held on 29 September, and the championship will conclude on
30 September with the final and the awarding ceremony.

The
championship comes within the framework of supporting women’s practice of
sports and enhancing their participation in sporting activities, as well as
providing a space for competition and communication among female employees from
various government and private institutions, thereby contributing to
strengthening team spirit and interaction among the participants.

The
championship witnesses the participation of 22 institutions, including Asyad,
OQ8, the Royal Court Affairs, Mohammed Al Barwani Company, Sohar International,
Petroleum Development Oman, Occidental Oman, Al Maha Marketing Company, the
Environment Authority, Rihal, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, the
State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, United Engineering Services
Company, the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the Authority for Small and
Medium Enterprises Development, Omantel, the Diwan of Royal Court, Shell Oman
Marketing Company, the Consumer Protection Authority, Muscat Municipality,
Petrogas and the Ministry of Finance.
