(ONA) — Oman Football Team enters a decisive final group stage encounter
tomorrow (Monday) facing the Comoros National Team to determine qualification
for the Arab Cup quarter-finals. The pivotal third-round match, scheduled for
Stadium 974 at 9:00 pm Oman time, will decide which team from Group Two
advances alongside Saudi Arabia.
The team is
focused on securing a victory to earn the crucial three points that would keep
its quarter-final hopes alive, contingent upon the simultaneous match result
between Saudi Arabia and Morocco. Saudi Arabia currently leads the group with 6
points, followed by Morocco with 4 points. Oman Football Team holds third place
with a single point, while Comoros trails without any points.
In the pre-match
press conference, Portuguese head coach Carlos Queiroz affirmed that the team
continues its rigorous preparations with undiminished focus. He emphasized that
victory is the singular and essential objective for the encounter, a directive
he has clearly communicated to the entire squad. Coach Queiroz underscored that
the qualification race remains wide open, acknowledging the Comoros team’s
roster of talented players. He highlighted their impressive performances in
previous matches, where they created tangible scoring opportunities, and
stressed that our team must approach the fixture with maximum alertness and
complete readiness.
